ONE OF SEVEN STRIPED MARLIN, RELEASED BY THE RAMBIN PARTY FROM HOUSTON, TEXAS ABOARD TRACY ANN
BILLFISH: Cabo shows no signs of slowing down on the fishing front, despite being plagued with weather issues this past few weeks, anglers in the know are aware that summer is one of the best times to be in Cabo due to the sheer numbers of fish around. Pisces Tracy Ann has a superb week, turning out to be top boat on several days. On September 10th, Harry Schwartz and friends were aboard, fishing outside the 95 spot, when they were fortunate to catch & release seven striped marlin, ranging from 90 to 120 lbs. on a combination of bait and lures, as well as a dorado.  Next day out they headed out to the same location this time with Danny Rambin & friends from Houston, Texas on board who did very well to release seven striped marlin up to 120 lbs. and land a 28 lb. tuna for the table. Pisces Ruthless had a super day too, fishing five miles beyond the 95 spot, catching four sailfish, seven tuna & a dorado for William & Patricia Nopper from Oklahoma. Friday the 13th, proved lucky for Ruthless as she caught the only blue marlin of the week for Clarence Mitchell from Virginia, who with friends, also released a sailfish at the 11.50 spot.  Tracy Ann continued their roll, with five striped marlin, a sailfish & a dorado for David & Terry Harrison, fishing outside the 95 spot, with all catches on live caballito. September 9th, saw Pisces Listo have a jaw dropping day, fishing 39 miles out from the Cerros de Arena, they released a 200 lb. thresher shark, three sailfish, a striped marlin and boated ten tuna up to 40 lbs. for a group from Indiana, consisting of Brian & Angela Barhart, Terry Sayre & Charley Weber. This was not the only big shark this day; Bill Collector released a 150 lb. pilot shark forty miles out for Dan Herrington from San Antonio, Texas.  Eighty four percent of our boats caught billfish this week, breaking down into 98 striped marlin, 25 sailfish & 1 blue marlin.
OTHER SPECIES: Dorado catches were good but dropped quite a bit compared to last week with fifty percent of the boats catching between one and ten dorado up to 40 lbs., exceptional days were had by the panga Gloria & Ruthless who had 15 in a day but could they could not surpass the 18 caught aboard Tracy Ann (7 released) by Donna Shrock & party at Los Arcos.  Our total dorado count this week was 92 fish. Yellow fin tuna catches were steady but not great, with twenty one percent of boats catching between one and ten fish in the football class, with not many over the 30 lb. mark. Just a couple of 40 lb. wahoo this week aboard Ruthless & Tracy Ann respectively. Inshore a few white & black skipjack were caught.
WEATHER CONDITIONS: Port was closed one day, but boats had already left, so they got to fish a half day in that instance. Seas average to calm.
